      When we transfer a any file,folder or any information then its called "Data Transfer." The data transfer is most important task in our day-to-day life. We transfer a data between two mobiles using Bluetooth or using various apps.We transfer a data between two computers using network. But how to transfer or shares files between to  different computers which have a different operating systems.At that time we need to uses a samba software. Consider two computers one have a windows operating system and another one Linux. Then how we shares a file ????  That time uses a Samba Server.

  1.     Whats Samba??                                                                                                                    Samba is a one one open source software. Which is used for share a files and printers between the Linux/Unix and Widows Software.Its also support to all versions of DOS and windows,OS/2,Linux and many others.

                             Samba its developed by Andrew Tridgell. Which release in 1992.And written in Python and C programming languages.Samba its allows a Unix system move into a Windows.

         
                              Windows user can easily access  files prints without any interrupt  of Linux.Which all operations are managed by the one protocol That are Common Internet File System (CIFS). And heart of CIFS is Server Message Block(SMB).
                          
                                
                          Samba is free its easily  available but clients need to licences for the samba. You should able to access a servers file on windows client. If you dont wont to see your client automatically then access this using IP address.In case of secured share  the user will be required to enter the password before being able to access the shared folder.

       2.Installation of Samba

                          When we want to install samba then the binary packages are available in the Linux Distribution. Also some file available at site in https://www.samba.org/samba/download/
